We carry a variety of thread products selected with Pearl Jewelry making in mind. These threads also work well with other lightweight beads, such as small gemstone beads, glass or crystal beads and precious metal beads. Polyamid thread by Griffin is an extremely strong, nylon-like thread with a beautiful gloss and good color brilliance. It is stronger than "natural silk" and more robust. Under tension it stretches by 25% but returns to its original dimensions when released. It's great for knotting between beads.
Polyamid is packaged on cards that contain 2 meters (about 6.5 feet) of thread. A thin twisted needle is pre-attached to the thread for ease of use. packages may be labeled "Polyamid" or "NylonPower" (both are Griffin brand names). Available in three thread sizes that are popular for use with pearls, see below for sizes and colors available. Silk thread by Griffin is a smooth, glossy thread that has been traditionally used for pearl bead stringing and knotting between each pearl. Silk thread is packaged pre-attached to a thin twisted needle for ease of use. The thread has the correct twist, so there is no need to double the thread and it is easy to knot. Available in three thread sizes that are popular for use with pearls, white color only. Please select the desired size from the menu.
